The Schools Co-operative Society co-ordinates a network of educational organisations and provides advice and support to its members. It gives a voice to the rapidly growing co-operative sector within the UK educational system.

School Improvement Through Co-operation

Everyone wants the school in their community to be the best school it can be. Over the years many approaches have been tried. The best successes will come when everyone involved has a clear understanding of the vision and know how they can contribute to its success. Co-operation is about working together - creating an environment where all the stakeholders involved, from parents and learners, to staff and members of the community have the best chance of creating a good school for the young people in their community.

A new emphasis on co-operation through Co-operative Schools across the country is starting to make a difference through mutual support.

The Schools Co-operative Society is able to offer a range of support mechanisms for schools. This support can be for one off projects, developing weaker areas of the school or for whole school strategies.

We are able to offer a range of support mechanisms:-

  • By putting schools in contact with other schools within our extensive network we can encourage mutual support between professionals and schools in general.
  • We are in partnership with a large national provider of School Improvement and Support and can access targetted support for schools
  • By helping schools develop their own systems for school improvement we can imporve their capacity to reach higher standards.
